When fighting battles, try to figure out how to do it with as few losses as possible.

You can still have trouble with artillery that outranges you, so you may also want support from your own artillery to shoot back or fast cavalry/flying units to go take out their long range support. Since archers are good against infantry but need something to protect them against cavalry, spearmen are a good complement. For example, if you have a lot of archers, you'll want something to protect them.

When deciding what you want in your army, think about what would work well together.

And BE READY for the armies that will spawn and attack your ritual sites. If an enemy faction finishes theirs, you get a quest battle where you can defeat them and stop the ritual.
